Woods Creek Elementary School, located within Crystal Lake District 47, approached us looking to update their existing outdated ADA signage. The timing lined up perfectly with our shop acquiring a new UV printer capable of printing braille (MUTOH XpertJet 661UF), which allowed us to complete the job completely in-house. Our sales team completed the site visit and based on their notes and photos, as well as back and forth with the Security Director of the district and our Lead Designer/Owner, I designed and fabricated this ADA signage suite from the ground up.
PHOTOS FROM SITE VISIT
The above set of photos shows that the existing signs were worn down, mismatched, and in some cases non-compliant. Our goal was to maintain a consistent look across all signs and ensure compliance with current ADA standards. I used the school's logo as a launching point and selected an ADA Rowmark color to use across all signs for color consistency.

The suite in total consisted of 107 signs, 51 of which were window signs requiring inserts. To make changing the inserts as easy as possible on our client, I created editable Adobe Acrobat forms with appropriately sized rectangles so they could print and cut their own inserts when needed.
This was our first in-house full-package-deal ADA sign project, and I'm grateful to have had the opportunity to learn such a fun new piece of equipment along with our team.
